Nearly 1,400 athletes, 700 coaches, chaperons, and volunteers attend Special Olympics Arizona's State Fall Games each year. Athletes come from all parts of the state to compete in Olympic style games with the opportunity to win a gold, silver, or bronze medal.
Fall Games features three sports including aquatics, bocce and softball. Additional events include opening ceremonies, victory dance and Olympic village. Athletes must have current medical release/consent form on file to attend events.
During Fall Games, Special Olympics Arizona also recognizes Healthy Athletes. Healthy Athletes was developed in 1996, to improve athletes' ability to train and compete in Special Olympics. Healthy Athletes is designed to help Special Olympics athletes improve their health and fitness, leading to enhanced sports experience and improved well-being. Healthy Athletes is open to all Special Olympic Athletes even if you are not registered for the Fall Games.
