Whatever you do well in your profession, or in your personal life, becoming a coach is great for your spirit.....
We need your energy, and your time to help bring out the best in someone else. Our athletes have unlimited enthusiasm, a willingness to learn, and a great amount of joy to share. Coaching for Special Olympics will renew your love of playing for the fun of it and competing for the thrill of it.
Our year-round athlete training and competition provides a wide variety of sports to choose from. Coaches work directly with athletes approximately two hours a week for 10 weeks of training and competition for any given sport.
Becoming a coach is easy! Special Olympics Arizona coaches are supported by a training program. To become a Special Olympics Certified Coach go to the Certification Process tab at the right hand side of the page. At SOAZ, we feel that the better the coach, the better the experience will be for the athletes, which is why so much emphasis is put on coaches development.
For more information on how you can flex your muscles and spirit at the same time, go to the Local Programs tab to find to contact the Area Director in your geographic location.
If you are are a new coach, veteran coach, or are interested in coaching, you can register to receive on-going coaching news and updates by completing the Coaches Interest Form located at the top of this page.
