2008 Summer Games Opening Ceremonies!

Come celebrate the accomplishments of the athletes over the weekend and all year long!

Time: 6:00 pm-Gates open to the public

           6:45 pm-Athlete parade

           7:00 pm-Ceremonies and dance

Location: ASU Sun Angel Stadium

This year's Opening Ceremonies promises to be an event to remember.  Highlights from the program will include:

• Performances by the Jovert Band
• The Phoenix Coyotes Pack dance team
• The Athlete March
• ASU Cheerleaders and Sparky
• Law Enforcement Torch Run and lighting of the Flame of Hope
• Athlete Oath
• Announcement of Most Inspirational Athlete
• ...and a very special performance by Special Olympics Nebraska athlete and musician David Steffan!

The Ceremonies will be hosted by Channel 12 Sports Anchor Kevin Hunt and Special Olympics Arizona athlete Paul Bennewitz.  After the Ceremonies, we will celebrate with the Victory Dance!
