11th ANNUAL WINSLOW P.D./F.O.P. FAMILY FUN DAY TO BENEFIT LAW ENFORCMENT TORCH RUN FOR SPECIAL OLYMPICS
WHAT IS A FIRE TRUCK TUG?
The Winslow Fire Department has donated the use of a real fire truck. The truck will be on an unused street near the City of Winslow City Park. Teams will pull the truck approx. 50 feet by a rope that is attached to the truck. The team that pulls it in the fastest time wins. Trophies will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each category. The one man pull and couples will pull the truck 35 feet. The tug will be double elimination.
A TROPHY WILL BE GIVEN TO THE TEAM THAT RAISES THE MOST MONEY
LOGISTICS ON TUG:
There will be three categories for teams:
Male: up to 8 members
Female: up to 10 members
Co-Ed: 9 members - 5 members of one gender and 4 of the other gender
DO THE TEAM MEMBERS HAVE TO PAY THE FEE?
Teams can pay the registration fees in several different ways: Teams can have the members pay, teams can find a sponsor, or conduct fundraisers to raise the money (ie. bake sales, etc.).
WHAT DOES THE FEE BENEFIT?
All of the proceeds of this event benefit the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics and are tax deductible.
Early Registration: $200.00 per team $30.00 one man/woman, $50.00 couples. All teams that register prior to August 27, 2014 will receive T-Shirts for the team members as part of the registration fee. Registration fee must be postmarked no later than August 27, 2014.
DAY OF EVENT:
Teams are welcome to register the day of the event. No T-Shirts will be given to teams that register the day of the event.
WHAT IS THE FAMILY FUN DAY?
This event is for the entire family. Come out and spend the day cheering on the teams, meet local law enforcement and firefighters.
WHAT ACTIVITIES WILL BE AVAILABLE?
Along with the fire truck tug, there is the Standing on the Corner event. Families can come out and cheer on the teams and enjoy a day in the sun.
*NOTE: Some of the booths may have a charge in order to participate.
