On Saturday, February 16, 2008, Special Olympics Arizona and The Law Enforcement Torch Run were "Freezin' for a Reason" at the Polar Plunge!  Over 50 Plungers showed their support for Special Olympics Arizona athletes by collecting pledges and diving in the icy cold water at Sunsplash in Mesa.  The event raised over $15,000 for Special Olympics Arizona athletes!

Corey La Russo, of 910 AM Radio and Kevin Hunt of Channel 12 Sports hosted the event.  La Russo even agreed to be the brave first plunger!  Phoenix Coyotes dancers from The Pack and mascot Howler came out to cheer on the Plungers and judge the wacky costume contest.
