Arizona is divided into 6 geographic areas under an area management system which is in place to improve the quality of programming at the local level. Special Olympics Arizona has area offices in Flagstaff, Tucson and Yuma, with the headquarters office based in Phoenix.

01. RiverKingman, Lake Havasu, Yuma, etc.
Special Olympics Arizona's River Area offers year-round sports training and competition for over 1,000 children, teen and adult athletes with intellectual disabilities in western Arizona. The River Area has grown to 75 local programs offering 12 sports, 10 year-round competitions and multiple support programs. All of SOAZ's programs are provided at no cost to our athletes. Therefore, we rely heavily on SOAZ sponsors to provide funding, in-kind donations and volunteers. Explore River
02. MountainFlagstaff, Prescott, Page, etc.
Special Olympics Arizona's Mountain Area offers year-round sports training and competition for over 1,000 children, teen and adult athletes with intellectual disabilities in northern Arizona. The Mountain Area has grown to 16 local programs offering 26 sports, 18 year-round competitions and multiple support programs. All of SOAZ's programs are provided at no cost to our athletes. 03. MonumentHolbrook, Safford, St. Michael’s, etc.
Monument Area offers year-round sports programs and competitions for over 500 athletes from the Navajo Nation and eastern region of Arizona. The Mounument Area services 15 local programs offering, 4 sports, over 8 year-round competitions and multiple support programs. All of SOAZ's programs are provided at NO COST to SOAZ athletes. Therefore, we rely heavily on SOAZ sponsors to provide funding, in-kind donations and volunteers. Explore Monument
04. Palo VerdeGoodyear, Peoria, Surprise, West Phoenix, etc.
Special Olympics Arizona's Palo Verde Area offers year-round sports training and competition for over 4,000 youth and adult athletes with intellectual disabilities in western Phoenix. The Palo Verde Area has grown to 84 local programs offering 11 sports, 10 year-round competitions and multiple support programs. All of SOAZ's programs are provided at no cost to our athletes. 05. Four PeaksEast Phoenix, Gilbert, Mesa, Tempe, etc.
Special Olympics Arizona's Four Peaks Area offers year-round sports training and competition for over 4,000 youth and adult athletes with intellectual disabilities in eastern Phoenix. The Four Peaks area has grown to 73 local programs offering 12 sports, 10 year-round competitions and multiple support programs. All of SOAZ's programs are provided at no cost to our athletes. 06. CoronadoCasa Grande, Sierra Vista, Tucson, etc.
Special Olympics Arizona's Coronado Area offers year-round sports training and competition for over 2,000 children, teen and adult athletes with intellectual disabilities in southern Arizona. The Coronado Area has grown to 36 local programs offering 13 sports, 8 year-round competitions and multiple support programs. All of SOAZ's programs are provided at no cost to our athletes.
