Special Olympics Arizona provides training and competition opportunities to athletes through Local Programs within geographic areas throughout Arizona.  Each geographic area operates under the guidance of an Area Director and in some locations an Area Committee. The Area is, in effect, the community base for all local Special Olympics activities, events and competitions. Currently, Arizona has 15 Areas.
