Sports Development Teams and Games Management Teams

Sports Development Teams and Games Management Teams are vital component of the Special Olympics movement in Arizona. 

Sports Development Teams provide technical and logistical support for SOAZ training and competitions.  These teams establish community relationships, fundraise, and facilitates change to  promote sustainability of various sports programs important to the Special Olympics movement in Arizona.  In each sport, a Volunteer Sport Director serves as an extension of the SOAZ sports staff and assists at expanding opportunities for Special Olympics Athletes. 

The Games Management Team is a team/group of volunteers that manages all aspects of  any given competition.  The Games Management Team work passionately behind the scenes setting up all aspects of any given competitions setting the standard in Arizona of high quality and safe competitions.  

…Every year more and more volunteers share their time, experience and energy with us organizing sports programs and athletic competitions.

For a minimum time commitment of 1 to 2 hours a week, 3-4 months prior to a competition you too can take away an incredible sense of joy and accomplishment.
