Event Volunteers – Day-of event assistance includes a wide array of involvement, such as registration, scorekeeping, timing, staging of the athletes and awards. Shift times are approximately 4 hours in length for events that run 1-3 days.
Coach – Work directly with SOAZ athletes through teaching and training of a specific sport. Time commitment is 2 hours per week for 8 weeks leading up to a competition.
Games Management Team Member (GMT)– Assist with a specific competition committee in organizing, and implementing the sporting event at the area or state levels. Time commitment depends on the level of event – approximately 3-4 months leading up to an event. After hours meeting and planning sessions involved.
Event Management Team Member – Works with the GMT members and specific SOAZ staff member to assure proper functions of event are in place. Possible assignments include PR, Volunteer Recruitment, Fundraising, Merchandise.
Fundraising – Assist with planning and conducting an area or state level fundraising activity. Time commitments will vary.
Administrative Support – Date entry or short term assignments at the State office in Phoenix. Time commitment is flexible.
Certified Official – Work as an Official or Judge at area or state competitions. Official certification within a specific sport required.
Medical Volunteer – Assist on day of event with first aid. EMT certification, RN, PA or MD required.
